Welcome to Raleigh360!

This project was initiated at SPARKcon 2008 to “create a culture of localism.” We’re excited to create a “alpha” prototype of our information system so we can budget the work and then try to find city leaders who will fund the effort.

The intent of this group was to create a system to “Promote a Culture of Localism”

We do this several ways:
1. Connecting local talent to local work by consolidating “Request for Proposals” and other posted projects and putting them in one easy-to-read interface.

2. Connecting local jobs to local talent by establishing a “Talent Database” from which potential employers can search for specific creative skills – from architects to mural artists and illustrators to fashion models.

3. Establishing standards for a “GoLocal Rating” to encourage local businesses to use as many local resources as possible.

4. Capturing and maintaining a “Do it Yourself” guidelines for different ways to engage your local community.

5. Creating a local community center to enhance all of the local relationships we can.

Everything you see on this website right now are schematics of how we’d like to see the website work. Hopefully this is enough to inspire conversation- so let us know your thoughts!
